I'SOTis a Religious Community
whose membership is dedicated to being
In Search of Truth.
Truth is that which is an accurate expression of the LORD GOD of CREATION. We look for this expression of TRUTH in the Holy Scriptures which we believe are the inspired WORD OF GOD, absolute in authority, complete in revelation and without error, preserving for mankind all that is necessary for our personal redemption, regeneration and reconciliation with our Creator, the LORD GOD of the UNIVERSE. Truth can only be experienced as we come into an intimate and personal relationship with the SON of GOD, JESUS CHRIST.
Religion is a way of life, it is the way an individual or group of people conduct themselves in the worship of their God. It is recognized in the rituals, ceremonies, and the traditions that they share with others of like faith.
The word religion comes from a root word meaning ligament, that which holds together; to obligate, make reliable, form an alliance, share a common way of living, a common doctrine, a common life.
Community is an experience. For some it is living in the same neighborhood. For some it is the sharing of doctrines and worship. For others, community is a total life lived with other like-minded individuals, rejecting the principles of individualism, putting the goals and purposes of the community before personal goals.
Community at its best is based on the mutual love of God before all else, second, the caring for and love of others equal with our caring for and love of self. There can be no true community without forgiveness and vulnerability. (Matt. 22:36-40)
Only as we become more intimately and personally acquainted with Jesus Christ can we become a community that worships God in Spirit and Truth. This is our ultimate desire.
I'SOT is a religious society of people who have chosen a communal way of life in order to fulfill their individual and collective calling in Christ.
"If anyone thinks himself to be religious—piously observant of the external duties of his faith--and does not bridle his tongue but deludes his own heart, this person's religious service is worthless. External religious worship (religion as it is expressed in outward acts) that is pure and unblemished in the sight of God the Father is this:
"Visit and help and care for the orphans and widows in their affliction (supplying their needs) ... keeping yourselves unspotted and uncontaminated from the world." (Jas. 1:26-27 Amplified; See also I Jn. 2:15-17; Ro. 12:2)
To fulfill these requirements, we have set for ourselves these three directives to govern our way of life:
- Promote the living and teaching of the principles of Jesus Christ.
- Provide homes, a family environment and living experience for those who have lost their way physically, mentally and spiritually.
- Help those who come to us to have a better understanding of themselves, their responsibility to others and their relationship to God, their Creator.
Commitment. Our commitment is to God, to His Son Jesus Christ, Who is the central figure of our faith, and to being filled with the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, that we might walk worthy of our calling in Christ.
"For we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose. For whom He did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son..." Jesus Christ, our Lord.
(Rom.8:28-33; Rom.6:11-13; Jn. 14:12-17, 26; Eph. 4:1)
